🍒 Cherry Muhallebi Dessert Recipe
Ingredients
Cherry Layer
- 2 cups cherry juice
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
Milk Pudding Layer
- 3 cups milk
- 1 small tea glass sugar (حوالي ½ كوب / 100 غ)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (أو 1 packet vanilla sugar)
For Decoration
- Desiccated coconut
- Chopped pistachios
- Fresh cherries
Instructions
- In a saucepan, whisk together the cherry juice, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
- Divide the cherry mixture evenly among serving cups or ramekins and let it cool slightly.
- In another saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and flour.
- Cook over medium heat while stirring continuously until thick and creamy.
- Remove from the heat, then stir in the butter and vanilla until fully incorporated.
- Pour the milk pudding over the cooled cherry layer.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until completely set.
- Carefully unmold if desired, coat the sides with shredded coconut, and garnish with chopped pistachios and fresh cherries.
