Strawberry White Chocolate Donuts
Ingredients
For the Donuts
- 8–10 yeast or brioche donuts (homemade or store-bought)
For the White Chocolate Glaze
- 10 oz (300 g) white chocolate, finely chopped
- ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter (optional, for a glossy finish)
For the Strawberry Sauce
- 1 cup (150 g) fresh strawberries, chopped
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, for a thicker sauce)
For the Topping
- 2 cups (250 g) fresh strawberries, halved
- 2 tbsp freeze-dried strawberry crumbs
- Extra melted white chocolate for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberry Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until the berries soften. Stir in the cornstarch slurry if you prefer a thicker sauce. Remove from the heat and let it cool completely. - Make the White Chocolate Glaze:
Heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Pour it over the chopped white chocolate and let it sit for 1 minute. Stir until smooth, then mix in the butter for extra shine if desired. - Glaze the Donuts:
Dip the top of each donut into the white chocolate glaze, allowing the excess to drip off. Place the donuts on a wire rack or parchment paper. - Decorate:
Top each donut with fresh strawberry halves. Drizzle with the cooled strawberry sauce and, if desired, additional melted white chocolate. Sprinkle with freeze-dried strawberry crumbs for added flavor and texture. - Serve:
Let the glaze set for 10–15 minutes before serving. Enjoy fresh for the best taste and texture.
