Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Sauce

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Coat with the egg, then the flour and cornstarch mixture.
  3. Fry until golden and crispy.
  4. In a pan, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, ketchup, vinegar, and sesame oil. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. Toss the crispy chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Serve with steamed jasmine rice and stir-fried vegetables.
