Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken
Ingredients
- 500 g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 egg
- Salt and black pepper
- Oil for frying
Sauce
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
- Coat with the egg, then the flour and cornstarch mixture.
- Fry until golden and crispy.
- In a pan, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, ketchup, vinegar, and sesame oil. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Toss the crispy chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve with steamed jasmine rice and stir-fried vegetables.
