Creamy Beef Lasagna Gratin

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna sheets
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 700 ml marinara sauce
  • 250 ml heavy cream
  • 250 g ricotta cheese
  • 250 g mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 100 g Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet and cook the onion until soft. Add the garlic and ground beef, cooking until browned.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix the ricotta with the heavy cream until smooth.
  5. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish.
  6. Layer lasagna sheets, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  7. Finish with a generous layer of mozzarella and Parmesan.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
  10. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes, then garnish with fresh basil before serving.
