Gourmet Mushroom Swiss Burger

A juicy homemade beef burger topped with melted Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, pickles, arugula, and a creamy Dijon sauce, all served on a buttery brioche bun.

Ingredients

For the Burgers

  • 500 g ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Toppings

  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 250 g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Pickle slices
  • Arugula or lettuce
  • 4 brioche burger buns

Creamy Dijon Sauce

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp honey
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix the ground beef with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Divide into 4 patties.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and cook the burgers for 4–5 minutes per side, depending on your preferred doneness.
  3. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each burger and let it melt.
  4. In another skillet, heat the butter and olive oil. Cook the onions for 8–10 minutes until caramelized.
  5. Add the mushrooms and sauté until golden and all the moisture has evaporated.
  6. Mix all the sauce ingredients until smooth.
  7. Lightly toast the brioche buns.
  8. Spread the Dijon sauce on both halves of each bun. Layer with arugula, the cheeseburger patty, mushrooms, caramelized onions, tomato slices, and pickles.
  9. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with fries or your favorite side.
