Gourmet Mushroom Swiss Burger
A juicy homemade beef burger topped with melted Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, pickles, arugula, and a creamy Dijon sauce, all served on a buttery brioche bun.
Ingredients
For the Burgers
- 500 g ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Toppings
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 250 g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tomato, sliced
- Pickle slices
- Arugula or lettuce
- 4 brioche burger buns
Creamy Dijon Sauce
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp honey
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Mix the ground beef with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Divide into 4 patties.
- Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and cook the burgers for 4–5 minutes per side, depending on your preferred doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each burger and let it melt.
- In another skillet, heat the butter and olive oil. Cook the onions for 8–10 minutes until caramelized.
- Add the mushrooms and sauté until golden and all the moisture has evaporated.
- Mix all the sauce ingredients until smooth.
- Lightly toast the brioche buns.
- Spread the Dijon sauce on both halves of each bun. Layer with arugula, the cheeseburger patty, mushrooms, caramelized onions, tomato slices, and pickles.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with fries or your favorite side.
