Ultimate Three-Cheese Grilled Sandwich
Ingredients
- 8 slices sourdough bread (or thick white bread)
- 200 g mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 150 g cheddar cheese, sliced
- 150 g Gruyère or Swiss cheese, sliced
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp softened butter
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for extra crispiness)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Mix the softened butter with the garlic powder and oregano.
- Spread the butter mixture on the outside of each bread slice.
- Layer mozzarella, cheddar, Gruyère, and a few slices of red onion between two slices of bread.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and a pinch of black pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
- Cook the sandwich for 4–5 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden and crispy.
- Cover the pan for the last 2 minutes to help the cheese melt completely.
- Slice in half and serve immediately while the cheese is hot and stretchy.
