Oven-Baked Lyulya Kebab (Lamb & Beef)
Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef and lamb (or all beef)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ red bell pepper, finely diced
- ½ bunch fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
- Salt, black pepper, and paprika to taste
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for brushing)
For Serving
- Lavash or flatbread
- Thinly sliced onions
- Fresh herbs
- Fresh vegetables
- Garlic yogurt or sour cream sauce
Instructions
- Finely chop the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and herbs. Gently squeeze out any excess liquid from the vegetables.
- Combine the vegetables with the ground meat. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Knead the mixture thoroughly for 5–7 minutes until it becomes sticky and well combined. Lift the meat mixture and firmly throw it back into the bowl several times to improve its texture.
- Cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours.
- Shape the mixture into oval kebabs and place them on a parchment-lined baking tray.
- Lightly brush the kebabs with vegetable oil.
- Bake in a preheated 200°C (400°F) oven for about 25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
- Serve hot with lavash, pickled onions, fresh herbs, vegetables, and a creamy garlic sauce.
