Garlic Butter Steak with Shrimp & Creamy Mash

Ingredients

For the Steak

  • 2 beef tenderloin steaks (filet mignon)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and black pepper

For the Shrimp

  • 10 large shrimp, peeled
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp paprika

For the Mashed Potatoes

  • 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • Salt to taste

For the Cream Sauce

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash with butter, milk, and salt.
  2. Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side (or to desired doneness).
  4. Add butter and baste the steaks for 1 minute.
  5. In another pan, sauté garlic in butter, then add shrimp and paprika. Cook for 2 minutes per side.
  6. For the sauce, melt butter, add garlic, then stir in cream and Parmesan. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  7. Place mashed potatoes on a serving plate.
  8. Set the steak on top, arrange the shrimp over the steak, and spoon the creamy sauce generously over everything.
  9. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
