Garlic Butter Steak with Shrimp & Creamy Mash
Ingredients
For the Steak
- 2 beef tenderloin steaks (filet mignon)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and black pepper
For the Shrimp
- 10 large shrimp, peeled
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp paprika
For the Mashed Potatoes
- 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 3 tbsp butter
- ½ cup warm milk
- Salt to taste
For the Cream Sauce
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash with butter, milk, and salt.
- Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side (or to desired doneness).
- Add butter and baste the steaks for 1 minute.
- In another pan, sauté garlic in butter, then add shrimp and paprika. Cook for 2 minutes per side.
- For the sauce, melt butter, add garlic, then stir in cream and Parmesan. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Place mashed potatoes on a serving plate.
- Set the steak on top, arrange the shrimp over the steak, and spoon the creamy sauce generously over everything.
- Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
