Apple Cream Pie Recipe
Ingredients
For the Crust
- 250 g (2 cups) graham cracker or digestive biscuit crumbs
- 100 g (7 tbsp) melted butter
- 2 tbsp sugar
For the Apple Filling
- 5–6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 3 tbsp butter
- 70 g (⅓ cup) brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
For the Cream Layer
- 250 g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 200 ml (¾ cup) heavy whipping cream
- 50 g (¼ cup) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For Garnish
- Whipped cream
- Apple slices
- Cocoa powder or ground cinnamon for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Mix the biscuit crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press firmly into a 9-inch pie pan, covering the bottom and sides.
- Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
- In a skillet, melt the butter and cook the apples with the brown sugar and cinnamon for about 8–10 minutes until slightly tender.
- Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for another 1–2 minutes until thickened. Allow the filling to cool.
- Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks, then gently fold it into the cream cheese mixture.
- Spread the cooled apple filling over the crust.
- Spoon or pipe the cream mixture on top.
- Decorate with whipped cream, apple slices, and a light dusting of cocoa powder or cinnamon.
- Chill the pie for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.
