Cheesy Steak & Fries Skillet

A quick and satisfying one-pan meal featuring tender beef strips, caramelized onions, crispy French fries, and plenty of melted mozzarella cheese. Perfect on its own or served in sandwich rolls!

Ingredients

  • 500 g beef steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups frozen or homemade French fries, cooked until crispy
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the French fries according to the package instructions or fry until crispy. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced beef and cook for 4–5 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in the sliced onion and cook until softened and lightly caramelized.
  5. Season with paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  6. Add the crispy French fries to the skillet and gently toss to combine.
  7. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Optional Serving Ideas

  • Stuff into toasted sandwich rolls.
  • Serve with garlic sauce, mayonnaise, or spicy sauce.
  • Pair with a fresh salad or pickles.
