Creamy Garlic Steak & Shell Pasta
Ingredients
- 12 oz (340 g) medium pasta shells
- 1½ lb (680 g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- ½ cup diced tomatoes
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Extra Parmesan, for serving
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta shells until al dente. Drain and reserve ½ cup of pasta water.
- Season the steak cubes with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the onion and cook until softened, then stir in the garlic for 30 seconds.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Add the spinach and diced tomatoes. Cook for 2 minutes until the spinach wilts.
- Add the cooked pasta and toss until evenly coated. If needed, stir in a little reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
- Return the steak to the skillet and gently combine everything.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese.
- Serve immediately while hot.
