Old School Pizza Burgers
These Old School Pizza Burgers combine two favorites in one delicious meal! Juicy beef patties are layered with pizza sauce, tomato slices, and plenty of gooey melted mozzarella, then baked until golden and bubbly.
Ingredients
For the Burgers
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Toppings
- 4 burger buns (or English muffins)
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 2 tomatoes, sliced
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Divide into 4 large patties and cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for 4–5 minutes per side until browned.
- Lightly toast the burger buns.
- Spread pizza sauce over the bottom half of each bun.
- Add a tomato slice, then place the cooked beef patty on top.
- Cover generously with mozzarella and sprinkle with Parmesan, oregano, and basil.
- Bake for 5–8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
- Add the top bun and serve immediately with fries, salad, or your favorite dipping sauce.
